Perched atop a rocky peak, the castle offers sweeping views of green valleys, jagged mountains, quaint villages, and peaceful rice fields.
Next, head to Kalayeh Village, a hidden gem surrounded by orchards and beautiful nature. There, you’ll enjoy a homemade local meal.
In the afternoon, continue your journey to Hir Village, known as Iran’s Cornelian cherry capital. Take your time exploring its dramatic rocks, canyons, and serene landscape before returning to Kalayeh for a cozy overnight stay.
Overnight: Kalayeh Village
Wake up to the fresh mountain air of Alamut and start your day with a short, scenic drive from West to East Alamut (around 25 km). From the base of a rugged mountain, you’ll enjoy a light 30-minute hike up to the legendary Alamut Castle, once the secret stronghold of Iran’s famous 11th-century Assassins.
After wandering the castle ruins and admiring the views, sit down to a local lunch at a friendly guesthouse nearby.
In the afternoon, venture into the stunning Andej Valley, where surreal rock formations and peaceful trails await. Enjoy a light hike (as short or long as you like) and discover natural highlights like the Dulakan Guardroom and the striking Bozkosh Rocks.
Finally, with your heart full of stories and your camera full of views, head back to Qazvin.
